RUGGERS WITH THE MAKOS
Starting 2 weeks ago, the Tasman Makos rugby team has been coming into Broadgreen to teach ball skills to students. Next week r15 will get to play a whole class game of tackle!!!!! But we have to bring our mouth guards. So far we have learnt how to pass a ball and how to play ripper, next week we will learn how to tackle! This is lots of fun so a big thanks to Mrs Bywater for organising the Makos to come and also to the Makos for coming along. Sadly Mr Hepburn cannot find the camera so we don't have any pictures :'( but we do have a photo of a Mako.

Room 15 Movie Night
On Wednesday the 21st of May Room 15 had a movie night in our classroom. Earlier in the day we went round the classrooms asking if we could borrow their couch's. Next we shifted the couch's to where we wanted to sit. Most of us ordered fish and chips but some of us got pizza. At 3:35 we started watching the movie. The movie was Zathura. It was about a space game that comes to life and every turn you took a card popped out and on that card it said something that would happen like meteor shower get out of the way! Room 15 had lots of fun and will hope to have another movie night soon!

Revolution Tour
On Monday the 12th of May the Revolution Tour - (an anti-bullying show) - visited Broadgreen.
8 classes went at 9:30 - morning tea and the rest went from 11:00 - l2:00.
They told us that we could go crazy and shout as loud as we could, after they had got us hooked, they got 4 boys and 4 girls up on stage for a dance off! Harry and Christian from our class were part of the 4 boys, who won and received a free ticket to their show this afternoon (Harry did shamazing splits which was a crowd lover).
They did a skit which taught us how the bullies feel and how the victims feel. It was an amazing show so thank you Revolution!
Below are some pictures of the show.

Art
In room 15 we are doing Aboriginal art. We made an ancient background, like a cave wall, first using our hands. Then we designed ancient pictures like animals etc... in our books. Once we were happy with them we drew our pictures or animals on our backgrounds. To finish we put patterns on our animals using sticks and brushes.

Kiwidex
Kiwidex (Kiwi Exercise) is a fun exercise routine that Room 15 do most mornings, with about 3 minute intervals on each activity. On Thursday mornings Room 19 joins us. Kiwidex is a good way to keep fit at school and keeping fit means you can enjoy sports and exercise. Some of the things we do in the routine include running, press ups, skipping, burpies and lots more. Here are some pictures of us enjoying Kiwidex.

CANTEEN
Today, Friday the 14th of March Room 15 opened the canteen.
First of all we went over to the canteen and started making milkshakes, garlic rolls, chicken baps and noodles. Next some of us went to watch the swimming. The ones that stayed behind opened up the doors, turned the tills on and started making the orders.
After that we started delivering the orders.
When the second bell rang we had a massive line of people waiting to buy things! Ten minutes before the bell was about to ring we shut the canteen doors and started to clean up.
Room 15 did a good job and everyone helped, which made today a success in the canteen!

Swimming Survival Skills
On Thursday 13 of March we had our last day of swimming.
For fun we had to wear our Pj's in the lane pool. We had a floating competition with our heads under on your stomachs, a handstand competition and we tried to get out of our PJ's in the water it was very difficult! For others it was easy!
Then we went into the diving pool and tied the legs up on our pjs to make a floating device. It was very cool!
After that we went into the diving boards and had a lot of fun jumping off the diving boards and doing amazing tricks and flips.

Bridge valley
On Monday 14th of February Room 15 went to Bridge Valley. When we got there we started with orienteering. Our mission was to find out what the code was to get into the safe. Inside the safe was lollies!
One of the activities that we did at Bridge Valley was high ropes. The ropes were not very stable but you wouldn't fall as we were held up by harnesses. It really tested our confidence!
The second activity was rafting. We had to get our team from one side of the lake to the other without touching the water in 45 minutes. They gave us some tyre tubes, wood and rope.
The third activity we completed was rescuing 'Billy'(a dummy on a stretcher). We had to carry him over a lot of obstacles, working as a team so we didn't drop him or step into the poisonous land!
This whole experience was all about us getting to know everyone in our class, working as a team and having fun.!
