Room15 Art

This is some of Room 15's art.

We did hot and cold paintings using red and blue colours.

We blended blue and red with black and white colours.  Then we cut the paper in half and on one half we cut out triangles or circles and glued them on the other half, contrasting them (trying not to get black with black and red with red).

The pastel art we did with the six pictures and three colours.  We drew the six pictures and then coloured them in using four different colours for the back ground and they ended out looking  excellent.

Then we did monster names which is with our names.  We doubled them beside each other and then we decided where the eyes mouth and nose would go.  Next we drew them in and coloured the rest of the  letters  using only three colours.  Then you colour the background in one solid colour.

We think they look really cool.

Room 15 Movie Night

Last night in Room 15 we had a movie night.

Some people got couches and, pillows and bean bags from other rooms to sit on. We watched Jumanji which is a magical board that comes to life. At 5 o'clock we stopped to eat our fish'n'chips from Two Little Fish Takaways, they very kindly delivered them!  We then watched the rest of the movie and cleaned up afterwards and went home.
It was a lot of fun and we hope to have another one!

SCIENCE WITH MANDY

On Tuesday, Room 15 did science with Mandy (Pirran's mummy). We got film canisters and filled them
with either milk, vinegar, water or lemonade. Then we got the lid of the film canister and put paste on it which contained meths, citric acid and baking soda. We then put then lid on the canister and tipped it upside down and got out of the way! It took about 10 to 30 seconds the canister exploded upwards.
We had lots of fun doing these experiments.

Anzac Founders Park

ISEL had a great Monday with us going to the Anzac Display at Founders Park which was amazing!
Room 12 had the great pleasure of going in first and after them it was Room 15 and we all saw the people in their costumes acting in the past.
We all learnt about how codes were secretly sent and how to crack them, it was really cool.
After that, Room 15 went into this big building which was quite dark inside and the people their were re-enacting what had happened in World War 2. There were small old shops and the people in them took us in and told us how they had survived in the past. They all told us to run inside this little pub and look outside the window and then suddenly this big explosion went off and scared quite a lot of people in the class.
Then we all waited in this small shelter for the all clear after the bomb.
After the re-enactment we all went around looking at the old buildings which was fun.
We all had the best time there and we couldn't have done all this without the hard work of the teachers and the parents. ISEL had the best time there.
