ROOM 15 CAMP
On Sunday the 22 of March 2015 Room 15 went on camp to Mistletoe Bay. We went to Mistletoe Bay by cars in the morning around 11am. We stopped at Pelorus bridge and went swimming, it was freezing cold and people were jumping off rocks and just swimming around.
We then went to Havelock to stop and have a walk around and to have a look at the boats. Then it was time to finish the drive to Mistletoe Bay. When we arrived at Mistletoe Bay we had to sleep in tents the first night. So the first thing we did was put up the tents and Keith, who worked at Mistletoe Bay introduced him and Mistletoe Bay and how it runs and where we were allowed. The parents also helped put the tents up.
once the tents were up we unloaded the trailers and cars and made our beds. next we looked around at the floating wharf, kitchen area, alpacas and we all helped put the boats in the water.

Isel House Free Swim.
Isel had a great time at the swimming sports so the teachers decided that we could have a free swim on account of;
1. Winning the swimming sports.(We were always going to win but...)
2. Coming first in the relay. ( Amazing job done by Mr Hepburn...)
3. The participation from everyone. (Need I say more?)
4. The enthusiasm that was shown by while doing swimming lessons. (From all three classes...)
5. And overall the behavior from all of the students. (Very loud. In a good way.)
We brought some tennis balls and a couple dodge balls and had a bombing contest which was easily won by Jet-Li. We even brought a kayak to have rides in!
It was lots of fun and we all enjoyed it.

Rabbit Island
On Wednesday Isel house biked to Rabbit Island. It took two hours there and two hours back, we were all very tired from biking 40km. We all had fun while we were out there doing mountain biking, swimming, just sitting and relaxing, or playing beach volleyball or cricket. There were many injuries and broken down bikes but thanks to the parents the day went very smoothly and the broken down bikes went into the trailer. It was a great day, we all got back safely and had alot of fun.

CRICKET
On Tuesday some of Room 15 students went up to the top field to the cricket pitch to play cricket against Room 5. It was a tough game but we bet Room 5 in the end, we won our game 132 to 105. Room 5 started batting and Room 15 were fielding. Room 15 students were great at bowling,we enjoyed it alot. After that we all had finished bowling we moved on to batting, the batting was pretty hard but we got alot of hits. That was how we won the game. GO ROOM 15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bike Safety
This week Room 15 were lucky enough to have one-legged-Marty come in and teach us some bike safety. First, we broke off into some groups and got to know our instructors. Then we learned about hand signals and road signals. We learned about "ABC" and "LSM. The ABC stands for Air, Brakes, and Chain. LSM stands for Look, Signal, and Move. We then got to go out onto the road and put those things into action. We all had a great time and hope we will remember those rules forever.

Novelty Relays
On Friday we had novelty relay races. The relays were:
- the shoe race that was timed,
- the sponge race where you had to soak the sponge up with water and squeze the water out into a sepreate bucket
- we also did a race where you had to put a ball between your legs and drop it into a bucket then pick it up and bring it back for the next person
- and the last game was where everyone had to link hands and then the person at the start had a hula hoop and had to pass the hula hoop down the line without letting go of the other persons hands.

On Wednesday the 10th of September Room 15 went up Mt Robert.
It took us an hour and fifteen minutes to get to St Arnaud, Lake Rotoiti by bus.
Then we traveled by minivan up to the top car park. From there we started our walk up the 'pinchgut track' which was quite steep!
When we got to the top we were lucky enough to play in some snow!
A big THANKS to all the parents and the bus drivers for taking up all there and giving up their time to help us on our trip.

RUGGERS WITH THE MAKOS
Starting 2 weeks ago, the Tasman Makos rugby team has been coming into Broadgreen to teach ball skills to students. Next week r15 will get to play a whole class game of tackle!!!!! But we have to bring our mouth guards. So far we have learnt how to pass a ball and how to play ripper, next week we will learn how to tackle! This is lots of fun so a big thanks to Mrs Bywater for organising the Makos to come and also to the Makos for coming along. Sadly Mr Hepburn cannot find the camera so we don't have any pictures :'( but we do have a photo of a Mako.

Room 15 Movie Night
On Wednesday the 21st of May Room 15 had a movie night in our classroom. Earlier in the day we went round the classrooms asking if we could borrow their couch's. Next we shifted the couch's to where we wanted to sit. Most of us ordered fish and chips but some of us got pizza. At 3:35 we started watching the movie. The movie was Zathura. It was about a space game that comes to life and every turn you took a card popped out and on that card it said something that would happen like meteor shower get out of the way! Room 15 had lots of fun and will hope to have another movie night soon!
